Crankset Question

Brad,
From looking at the pics on this one, it looks like if the driver's crank turns then it also drives the rear crankset, or do you have a freewheel in there somewhere? Just wondering if you both had to pedal all the time, or if one could coast and the other pedal, and switch back and forth? Looks like a cool design I was going to build a street fox next but this one looks nice, your making the choice harder.

Yes, the transmission is typical linked tandem style. I do have an independant system I plan to use on another tandem trike, but thought it would add too much weight and make this simple design too complex.
