Gallery Usage Rules

Registration to this forum is free! We do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below and outlined Forum Rules.

Every growing community needs rules to define boundries and expected standards of conduct. These forums are no different, so here is a list of rules all users are expected to understand and abide by.

English Language ONLY!

Registration is required: The board administrators require all individuals to register before they can reply to posts or start new threads (you can do this by pressing the register button on the bar above and filling out the relevant details). Registration also allows you to edit your posts, specify a signature, receive email notification of replies to your threads, and much more. Membership is, of course, totally free, and you can share as many, or as little, personal details as you wish. Your email address can be optionally hidden for privacy.

Submission to Admins/Moderators: Administrators and moderators are here to ensure order, sort out disputes, and generally just keep the bulletin boards tidy. They have the power to edit, delete, or move any posts in their forums. If you are unhappy about a particular post or image, you should contact the relevant moderator/admin direct by e-mail, the private messaging system with the problem. Please do not post topics such as "Why was my post edited/locked/deleted etc". Bear in mind that most moderators do this work out of the goodness of their heart, giving up considerable amounts of time for their hobby, totally free of charge. They do a great job, so please support them.

What we do not allow: Religious references and debates of any kind. There is absolutely no place in our forum for a heated discussion (argument) on whose deity is better or why someone else's belief system is wrong.

The Golden Rule: Before you come through the door, leave your higher power in the lobby and remember what we are all here for.

Membership here is a privilege, not a right.

We take a very hard line on this and will remove any post, avatar, or signature that promotes any form of religion. We have seen how something as simple as a single sentence can erupt into a battle that threatens this community's tranquility, and we don't have the time or patience for such a thing.

If your religious values require that you "spread the word", then find another place to preach because it will not be tolerated here. There are visitors and members from around the world who come to our forum every day, and although we respect the right to free speech, this forum is not the place to command one's belief systems on the worldwide community.

Respect is a two-way street.

If you cannot respect that fact that others hold opinions, values and beliefs that differ from your own, then our community is not the place for you.

Political references and debates of any kind. This is another subject that we will not allow in our forum. Political opinions always lead to flared tempers, and we have decided to simply take away the matches, rather than fight the fires. That being said, political references and comments will be instantly removed at the Administrator's and Moderator's discretion.

However, if you want to discuss a certain bicycle or electric vehicle bylaw for instance, this type of topic can be discussed without making inflated or derogatory comments. Being a political activist in a DIY community does not further anyone's cause.

Bullying or name calling. Regardless of age, training, or skill level, we consider all who join our community to be equals. Those few who may consider themselves superior to others or need to hurl insults will soon find themselves banned permanently.

Our forum has no place for bullies, egoists, spammers, scammers, trolls, or self-appointed moderators. If you are looking for a place to exercise a superiority complex, form your own community elsewhere because such behaviors and attitudes won't be allowed here.

The owners, administrators and authorized moderators of the Atomic Zombie Extreme Machines Builder's Forum reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread, avatar, picture, link and signature for any reason at any time, with our without notice to the poster. We aim to keep this forum clean and friendly. Decisions are final.

No spamming: Short and meaningful, or long and rambling posts are always welcome here at the Atomic Zombie forums, but a dim view is taken of those individuals who reply to posts with a mere smilee, a couple of words, or continually repeated phrases. Trying to increase your posts number using these methods is highly frowned upon, and may result in deletion of posts and a temporary/permanent ban. Members who continually post without adding anything meaningful to discussions will be warned by a moderator/admin, and may have his/her posting privileges restricted or revoked. If you're here mainly to inflate your ego, you've made a wrong turn. This community is not for you.

No swearing, derogatory remarks about other's work, nudity or personal attacks: Although these forums are welcome to all, we are freely viewable by people of all ages, so language or conduct inappropriate for children will not be tolerated. For this reason, swearing and the posting of "adult" or offensive material is forbidden. Simply replacing some of the letters in a swearword with a * or any other character is not acceptable. If you REALLY have to swear, please replace all the letters with *'s (i.e. ****), or use the angry emoticon. We also expect all members to be courteous to each other, and refrain from abusing or deriding other members. In addition to forum posts, this relates to offensive usernames as well. If you have a dispute, please do not fight it out in the forums; use our community private messaging system and contact a moderator/admin for arbitration.

No uploading of copyright material. The pictures you upload must be your own. If you do not know the source of the photo, then do not post it. Copyright violators will be warned once, then banned from uploading photos.

No anti-Atomic Zombie or bike building posts: We will never tolerate those who seek to tarnish our good name, no matter how justified they feel their complaints are. All posts of an offending nature will be removed and the user who posted them submitted for disciplinary procedures. If you have a particular strong complaint against Atomic Zombie moderators/admin, please send a message to the appropriate moderator/admin or use the e-mail system. Note that this does not include constructive criticism and suggestions which are, of course, encouraged. However, there are huge differences between constructive criticism and attacking or scolding the moderators/admin. If you can't use kind words and a friendly, lighthearted tone, then keep your comments to yourself. If you're having a bad day and feel to vent your frustrations, then please do not post comments. We are volunteers.

No over-promotion of business interests: Promoting your own website is most certainly allowed, but not to the degradation of the forums. By this, we mean that you can link to your website in your signiture, but spamming forums with the address is most certainly forbidden. The forums are here to allow people to freely share knowledge, not provide them with personal financial gain, or free advertising.

Correct use of the Community Gallery: Please avoid flooding the gallery with large quantities of similar pictures and/or photographs. Upload limits may be implemented if we find that some users are uploading dozens of pictures of the same project/bike. Ensure that they represent the overall theme of this community - bicycle-related. Any photos breaching this rule may be removed without notice.

All those breaking the rules can first expect a verbal warning by a moderator/admin and then, if they persist, an account deletion or temporary posting ban. Persistant and deliberate rule-breakers will have their account suspended or banned. That means they are no longer welcome on these forums and their account will no longer function. If they re-register, their new account will be killed immediately. That said, you have absolutely nothing to fear if you follow the rules and act like a civil member of human society.
