    Re: Danny's Daily Delta

    Today's progress:
... Has been minimal because once again we have been tasked with grand-kid minding.

However, I managed to sneak out and do a few bits.

First I reversed the drop-outs in the...

    Re: Danny's Daily Delta

    Hi Willym,
My biggest fear is that the M8 studs on the ends of the links will just bend under adverse loading, but it "ought" to be a smooth continuous load not a sudden extreme load.
    Oh... except...

    Re: Danny's Daily Delta

    Today's Progress:
I had decided that I was unhappy with the tilt mechanism (as deployed and basically working) because it was too cumbersome and looked ungainly.
So I re-worked it in the style and...

    Re: Viking total length

    10 miles and about 90 ton's. ;-)

OR was that the turning circle and braking force required to stop it? I forget.

Brad or someone else that's sensible will be along with the right answer in a...

    Re: Danny's Daily Delta

    Today's progress:
I managed to relax the forks and re-weld them to a better OLD measurement matching the hub I have in the wheel and not putting them under a huge amount of tension to do the...

    Re: Danny's Daily Delta

The "Snake" bit was not aimed at you, just an observation that low seats break knees.

Pedals? Flower "Pedals" :)? They will fit just fine on the end of the MBB boom.

    I wonder if anyone has...

    Re: Danny's Daily Delta

    Hi DTD,

Yup, could do, but looking at it, I think the extra back-rest spar is not needed at all.
I am going to chop it and see how it feels/looks. I can always put it back again. ;-)

    Re: Danny's Daily Delta

    Hi Willym,
There is still lots more to do yet, but I was just itching to see what it felt like to sit on it.
The "fold-ability" is a blessing and a curse, it is just SO fluid it is like I imagine...

    Re: Danny's Daily Delta

Today's progress was the addition of the suspension mounts and the assembling of the "parts" to sit on it as a "Whole".

I felt ok to sit on and very easy to mount (not lower than a snakes belly)....

    Re: Danny's Daily Delta

Today's progress was the installation of the crush-tubes in all of the tilt arms and the installation of the main operating arm on the central spine.
    Its coming together quite well.....Honest!...

    Re: Danny's Daily Delta

As the implementation of Seat mount Mk1 met with such scorn & derision yesterday ;-) a revamp was required.

In the picture below are the seat mounting parts (old & new) so you can compare the...

    Re: Danny's Daily Delta

In this race we are not having to build a trike and that Paul is allegedly winning........

And so he should be, he started weeks before I did and doesn't have shed-loads of ankle-biters taking up...
  15. Re: Can I build a trike in 5 days ? MBB delta trike

There might be a gusset missing on that frame. ;-)

Just for the record.... it's NOT a race.
I'm definitely not racing Paul, he's a "Racing-snake" on that Python.
My MBB delta is very much...

But... I did manage to sneak out and put 12mm plugs into the tilt actuators to act as tethering posts for the drum-brake back-plates.

    The...

But... I did manage to sneak the wheels on the X-beam to see what they would look like when all folded.
In a strange quirk of fate...

A rainy day today so little chance to play.

I managed to get the tilt actuators welded to the end of the axle-tubes without melting it all to slag.....Just.

You got it Bruce, its going to be a MBB front wheel drive.
Like a mini Cruz-45. But with 3 wheels.

    Re: Danny's Daily Delta

TBH neither am I sure what it is going to do for me. But, its an interesting challenge and may be a lot of fun.
There will be a "tilt-lock" of some kind to prevent it falling over at a stop, and it...
