It can't rain all the time
That concept drawing is great!
Brad
will redesign it so feet and legs can move freely.
merry christmas emma
thanks brad...need to redesign it and tweet it more
but..i think its on the right pathway
still designing everything at the moment
might make a small version as a prototype
well...ive made a start to the project with a new design made mostly out of wooden with a no weld steering system.
the wood will be wrapped with expoxy with plumbers hemp as a first coat then carbon fiber then a final wrap of hemp.
as a final finish to the wood, it will be wrapped in rope with a layer of epoxy covering it.
small steps today lead to giant leaps tomorrow
stewart
Interesting concept.following
regards Emma
It can't rain all the time
The concept looks like a Jetrike frame.....![]()
Why not use carbon rowings only, as with the bamboo bikes and are the dropouts made of wood or metal?
I will follow your progress with great interest.
If I can see correctly, the front wheels on the picture has quick release skewers. That kind of wheel is normally not strong enough to be fitted single sided.
Most builders on this forum are using a min. 14mm solid axel.
I'll be following your build as well. Interesting way to build and it sounds very strong - almost like a built up fiberglass.

Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without
Twinkle : Thanks Emma, you truly are very inspirational here on the forum with the many builds you have under taken. Thankyou for your support and advice so far.Your the salt of the earth.
And yes it can rain all the time...never seems to stop raining in Panama.
lotharko : the concept is very close to the same design as MZR frame...with the steering from Tribolt Recumbent Trike

Ive brought the plumbers hemp already as well as the carbon fiber ribbon / tow. Thought i would experiment a touch with both. Im pretty certain it will be strong as a Ox.
The dropouts at the moment show a plywood section holding the back tire in place. This is temporary and will be replaced with aluminum or steel.
Pegasus : this is a temporary wheel from a trailer i am using until the 20" wheel arrives.Ive done hours of research and from what ive read here and other places you are correct 14mm solid axel or more is the best option.
Ox76 : thats what i thought as well plus the rope will give an interesting finish texture...within the next week or so....i might test it out on some scrap material and post some photos
