....another common site round these parts are monitor lizards, some around 2m in length. Hard to believe the locals would want to catch and eat them, given that they are close cousins to the Komodo dragon. Have also seen a few otters here, but quite a rare site. There's a lot of fish farming in the area, and farmers are known to kill them to prevent from taking their stock. Apparently this has lead to a less healthy fish stock, as the otters will take the sick and weak fish primarily.............perhaps a good example of karma.........
