    DIY battery

I am going to bind them with duck tape, separate layers with lino strips - but I want an outer case of metal or plastic. Small size means that if I go for a second battery I can mount them on either side of the pannier carrier. without them taking to much space. Shoog

Got my cells today. Was surprised at how small they were. Going to build a pack which is 30cm long, 10cm tall and 7cm wide. Don't have a case or the BMS yet (haven't even dispatched from China yet) but will start linking them together and leave exposed tabs for the BMS. Shoog

Going to see if mine will fit into a square PVC gutter downpipe - though the tolerances are very tight at 1mm spare.

Looking for help on ideas on wheel and hub sizes for a trike project

Consider wheelchair wheels for the fronts. Side axles with cage bearings on thick axles. Take off the hand holds. However not so easy to attach disk brakes.

Going to make my own bus bars out of copper pipe 6S end to end using the screw together feature, also going to use a BMS. Charger is going to be a bit of a problem but will probably go commercial from China

They look like a serious supplier of car chargers and battery stuff, this is probably just a side line to take advantage of their Chinese contacts.

    DIY battery

Finally pulled the trigger on the Slovakian seller on Ebay. Only went for 25 cells in the end as I think initially a 12Ah battery should give me about 40-50km range. Will see how it all pans out and then think about building another matched battery if it works out well. Shoog

    DIY battery

Yes my logic is similar, with the BatteryHookup cells posted I should be able to build a 19Ah (guaranteed) battery at 36V for about €220.00 which I consider to be a steal. I will also have enough cells left over to build a second battery or a battery for my Camper Van - all for less than the...

    DIY battery

As is typical with Ireland there are no reasonably priced local suppliers. Brexit has put UK suppliers out of bounds as well. I like buying from Poland and Germany but there is nothing to compare to batteryhookup for bargains.
