    linear drive anyone ?

Hmmm.... I'm not sure what to make of it at all. The clip is a "teaser" with no chance to see it really in hard-riding action. It appears to have some suspension elements, but I'd like to see it doing a hard/fast corner. The friction losses in those cables must be pretty high compared to a...

    Lathe Newbies 4-Jaw Chuck setup.

Mostly/partially correct. If your rim has no offsets and your hub is symmetrical then by and large spokes of the same length tightened to the same extent will produce a wheel that is largely centred in the drop-outs I think. Loosening/tightening sides can produce a level of dishing.

    Lathe Newbies 4-Jaw Chuck setup.

So I made this little holder to mount a dial gauge on. It fits in a standard tool-holder adjusted for centre-height. It is just 3 small pieces of 12mm square tube welded together with a tapped hole for an M5 bolt to hold the gauge in place. It works just fine! :D And here it is in a little...

    Lathe Newbies 4-Jaw Chuck setup.

I don't think so, but I have never tried, because I use a single-sided angle-iron stand and the "middle" is just a fictional construct. :) But I get by OK.

    Lathe Newbies 4-Jaw Chuck setup.

Yesterday I made myself a smaller lathe-chuck key out of 8mm round bar. It should make dialling the 4-jaw in a lot easier when doing 2 jaws at once as per Double-boost's clip. I have found that dialling in a 4-jaw chuck (unless it is your day job) to be a hit & miss/long-winded affair. I saw...

    Another FWD Delta trike.

Today's abuse of the metalworkers art involved the addition of some side-plates to the seat mount that I had hacked off the frame where it had been permanently welded on. As a "rework" it looks less than pretty, but it will work ok. It is a tight fit, so I might need to flap-disc some metal...

Ok its welded up again. A right mess it is too. So bad that my camera refuses to take shots of it...sorry! And although was jigged & clamped square it has come out crooked. 😱 How that works I do not know. Thrown the thing in a corner and kicked it a few times, and it is getting no supper...

    Another FWD Delta trike.

Yes, and sadly I think there will be no "rear luggage space" as a result. :( Never mind.

The one I bought was this one. For £6.99

    Another FWD Delta trike.

Today's fun-n-games was all about putting the suspension pivot on a section of 25 x 25 x 2mm walled tube so that it can be reattached in a position where it can move freely and provide the fold-up function too. I really dislike fillet welds, but hey-ho, I did my best. The bearings have become...

    Another FWD Delta trike.

Suspension pivot removed Sir (as suspected, barely any travel). New pivot inbound, should be here by 2022. :) Old one came off pretty easily with a zip-disc through the edge welds and some gentle persuasion. I need to find a good alternative position and method that preserves the "fold-flat"...

    Another FWD Delta trike.

It's "Lucky Number 7", put your OCD away. 4 on one inserted section 3 on the other because you can't weld in the space between the spring-supports. This was "why" it was originally cranked. ;) I can probably bodge it make it work. 🤐 e-bay yes, but small holes in the welding helmet and 2...

    Another FWD Delta trike.

OK, some frame re-assembly was undertaken today by Dr. Clarke and his mate "Sparky Wand". The cranked section of the rear swing arm was removed and a section was joined to it via 7 plug-welds and 4 seam-welds. It came out quite well (I think). Cleaned up with a wire brush they don't look bad...

    My life with Python trikes Mk1 , Mk1.5 , Mk2 ?

    Indeed. Fugly, but functional :)

The pieces will go back together, but not necessarily in the same order or correct order.

What about a "Jokes" thread? - I will start.

A bride on her wedding night says to her husband, "I have a confession to make my love, I used to be a hooker." Stunned, he replies "That's a shock, but I find it pretty erotic. Please tell me more." She replies, "Well, my name was Nigel and I used to play for Wigan."
