Hey All
Does anyone see a problem with fat tires 3 to 4 inch.on the back 1.75 on the front?

I mean handling, steering or otherwise.

Thank you
Red.

If it fits, why not?
More rolling resistance, that's about it.
I went from 20" Marathon racers in front to Big Apple+. Very noticable in handling (easier to lift a fron wheel in cornering) and energy use (gives about 5% loss).
Now I'm using the Marathon Plus.
Best of 2 worlds, especialy because my tadpool trike has "pedelec qualities".

Based on my experience with 4" fat tires on my Aurora delta the only issues are the increased rolling resistance and the main problem in my area anyway is that the fat bike tires are a fairly soft compound and do wear faster than regular bicycle tires.

Thanks guys.

Popshot you're right I didn't think they would add that much weight to the overall package.

So with this info. 1.75 to 2.25 should be sufficient. Correct?

Depends where you are riding ?

I think for hard surface use 1.75" is a good comprise
not as hard or fast as 1.5" however more comfortable

2.25" for a bit of bumpy not surface riding so
not as hard or fast as 1.75" however more comfortable

just my 4 pence worth..

YMMV as they say Paul

Fatties look great and absorb bumps well but unless you're using a motor they are a poor dynamic choice imo. I'd agree with Paul on tyre choice on a regular rim.

What is your goal with the fat tires?
As it is for more condord, than you will get that.
It isn't great as you also want speed. It gives more role resistance what you will notice more than the extra weight. Also your cornering speed will go down. You can roll faster and have less control over.
But as you are just cruising around, than those fat tires are great.
