Has anyone used a pipe notcher to make the notch for the head tubes. I am building the Street Fox and have been told that by turning the square tubing in the notcher I can make this compound notch. Thanks
I have always just used a flap disc in an angle grinder. I've done literally hundreds of such notches that way. If you want more precision then get a hole saw the size of the head tube and use it in a bench drill. Remember to calculate the correct offsets in both directions.
I used a hole saw for the first warrior i built, it was a 90, so i took one long piece, drilled a hole straight through then cut it in half for the two arms. The next two and tomahawk i built i did it with a flap disc and cutting wheel and it worked fine.
A trick i used was shining a light in one end of the tube so you can see where the tube lines up in the notch and where to trim more.
