T45 steel tube

Hi all. I have access to some T45 steel tube for next to nothing. Would it be possible to build the Viking tandem with this. 50 mm T45 tube with 2 mm is half the weight of 50 mm square section thx in advance neil

Best guess - it would be fine. It's a bugger to cut so either angle grinder or grinder based chop saw. It's particularly good at not being bent so ideal for beam applications like a Viking. It's only drawback is that failure will likely be sudden if it should occur due to that stiffness so welds will need to be good enough not to cause stress fractures. Nice if you can get it cheap as it's usually very expensive.
